Knut Weber

Almost twenty years of practice with light started when I visited the theater class at the high school for performing and visual arts in Houston, Texas. Where they taught me acting, but mostly theater scenery and lighting.

Back in Germany this followed an apprenticeship as a photographer doing mainly commercial work and a short time as an assistant photographer in fashion. My focus changed and I switched to a film production and worked two years as an assistant editor doing again commercial work. Besides I shot the feature „das gewoelbe monas“ with Janne Jürgensen who just started his studies at the University of visual arts in Hamburg. I also did the editing of this movie.

After seeing my work, the professor Rüdiger Neumann invited me to the film class. In the five years of studying at the HfbK I did the camera and editing of many short movies.

I live in Hamburg with my wife and two sons and work as an film electrician at television features and commercials.
